Steve's practice is focused in the litigation of medical malpractice, serious personal injury, and insurance bad faith cases. He is licensed to practice in Kentucky, and before the United States Supreme Court and the United States District Courts for the Western and Eastern Districts of Kentucky.


Steve serves on the Board of Governors of the Kentucky Justice Association (formerly the Kentucky Academy of Trial Attorneys), a position he has held for over 10 years.  He is also a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. Steve serves on the Board of Governors of ATLA's New Lawyer Division, and is a member of ATLA's Birth Trauma Litigation Group, Medical Negligence Section, Interstate Trucking litigation Group and Insurance Law Section. He is also a member of the Louisville Bar Association.

He has contributed to several publications, including the book Medical Malpractice in Kentucky by M. Lee Smith Publishers and KJA's Handling the Brain Injury Case. He also served as editor of the latest edition of KJA's Auto Case Essentials. He has lectured on numerous topics to national and state bar associations and trial lawyer groups, including topics such as legal ethics, medical malpractice, jury selection and trial techniques. 


A native of Louisville, Steve attended duPont Manual High School and the Youth Performing Arts School, graduating in 1988. He graduated in 1992 from Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky with a B.A. in Philosophy. In 1998 he received his J.D. from the Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville.


Steve recently participated in Leadership Louisville Center's Ignite Louisville program and in the "Get on Board" program offered through the Center for Non-profit Excellence in Louisville. He remains very active in community service in the Louisville area.
